Rory is very attached to two very special items..."Monkey" and "Blankie." Monkey is a gray sock monkey that's just about as tall as she is, and blankie is a very soft purple blanket made for Rory by a friend named Becca. She insists on carrying them both everywhere. In fact, I finally wrangled blankie away from her this morning so I could wash it. It's been drug through WalMart one too many times.
Lately, we've been trying to lessen her need for either or both of these "friends" at all times, so when Brad gets her out of bed in the morning he asks her if she wants to take blankie or monkey with her. So far she has chosen blankie, so they put monkey back down to sleep in the crib. However, Rory has filled the void in one of her arms by picking up on her way out of the bedroom door a Pooh doll that plays lullaby music when squeezed. This morning when I walked into the living room Rory proudly showed me, "Shampooh." And to be honest, I hope the name sticks. It's cute.
