Have you seen my shoes?

Here's a couple pics of us at Crooked Creek Ranch this past summer. Now that you've seen two good pictures of us, I can start posting the goofy ones.

I can't find my tennis shoes. It's been annoying the past couple of days...I don't lose things...not for long. I have looked everywhere, the laundry basket, in the bottom of the closet, the garage, downstairs in the stuff marked "garage sale". They're gone for good I fear. I don't want to spend the money on a new pair. But I won't be able to go very long without them. I met my friend Sally for a walk next to Longview Lake this afternoon and my toes are throbbing now. I guess my feet have grown in the 5 years since I bought the tennis shoes I wore today. When you're on a budget it's not always as much fun to buy new shoes. (On the other hand, it is very freeing to only spend money that you know you have...I highly recommend a family budget.)

We took Rory to see the new VeggieTales movie at our church tonight. Yes...we're dorks. Brad commented that we'd probably have been there even if we didn't have a kid. :) The good news is Rory did better at this one than the last time our church showed a movie. Maybe in a few months she'll be ready to visit the theatre. I am thinking about looking into summer "mommy and me" movie showings at local theatres (shows that welcome toddler-age kids).

Have I told you lately that I hate blow-drying my hair? It is a serious waste of about 5-10 minutes of each of my days.

I've got a headache so that's enough staring at the computer screen.

I took Grant to his first theatre movie a few weeks ago. We saw a full 13 minutes of "Curious George" before Grant announced to the entire theatre, "Alright, it's time to go now!" We tried again a week later with his preschool class and actually got to see all but the last five minutes of the movie.
