Our friend, Chris, had to attend some mandatory "team building" time at a bar recently after a day of training at work. We had his wife and son over for dinner and decided to make a party out of it. Sorry Chris.
The dinner was tasty...Becca, I still need that recipe for corn salad. (You should post it in the comments so everyone can enjoy.) And the night couldn't have been better for sitting outside and enjoying friends.
The stars aligned and our kids all played nicely together while the adults shared stories, supported one another, and laughed as the sun set. As my friend Sheryl said, "It was one of those nights I dreamt about when I first had kids."
We made our own water slide with the hose and the kids loved it. We had to repeatedly move the slide since the ground at the bottom got saturated and muddy.

I love the pictures- thanks for sharing! Here's the recipe for the corn salad- hope you enjoy!
Fresh Corn Salad
Fresh sweet summer corn requires no cooking. Adding crumbled feta cheese, grilled shrimp, or chicken will make it hearty enough for an entree.
3/4 cup light sour cream
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
3 cups fresh corn kernals (about 5 ears of corn)
1 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
1 cup finely chopped green onions
Combine first 3 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring with a wisk. Add corn and remaining ingredients, stirring to combine. Cover and regrigerate at least 2 hours before serving. Yield: 8 servings (serving size: about 1/2 cup).
i LOVE to see my chair put to good use!!
those pictures are so cute. i'm glad you had a wonderful time!
