the loot

Rory's big present this year was her very first dollhouse. I breathed a sigh of relief when she became enthralled with the miniature dollhouse ornament we put on our tree, and knew then that the gift would be a hit. She repeatedly asks me to come and play with her and her dollhouse, which I am happy to do. I spent a few hours on Christmas Eve "setting it up" for the next morning. I think I enjoy it as much as Rory does. I have decided that it will never see a garage sale...I think this will be in my home for my grandchildren some day.

The token photo of Emme with all her new stuff. We really were blessed with some great gifts for her. I am very excited for her to actually start playing with toys. But I won't wish away these days.

My sister (a lady of many talents) made Rory adorable some gifts this year. Her bed is now adorned with the brightest pillow cases. They make me happy every time I see them. The photo above is a cape she made out of a victorian Christmas doll's dress my mom has had for ages. The doll is broken, so the clothes were donated to the cause of Rory playing dress-up. Seeing her like this makes me wish for a snow-covered field and an old-fashioned holiday party to attend. She looks like a doll.
