On the same day that Emme celebrated her one week birthday, she enjoyed her first musical at Starlight Theatre. Emme and I went on a date with good friends Susan Lockard and two of her daughters, Kathryn and Emily. Us girls went to dinner at The Mixx on the Plaza, and then did a little shopping (don't feel bad for Rory who wasn't a part of the evening...she got a new pair of Jeans from the Gap).
Emme's first musical was Hairspray. A very catchy show which I'm kind of glad Emme slept through considering all the "adult" humor. It was a chilly night but Emme stayed warm all cuddled up in her two blankets and snuggled up in someone's arms.
I had a great time and was quite excited to get out for such a fun reason. I love musicals and it couldn't have come at a better time as I've been feeling rather boring lately. Some days I don't even get around to taking a shower. The humor highlight had to be me standing in a bathroom stall, nursing Emme, and texting Brad who had just written me to see if we were having fun. Motherhood...the adventure never ends.

That's a great one - hairspray AND the nursing/texting/toilet time :)
Was Ricky Lake Tracy Turnblatt, or is that only in the movie??
