The Coast Guard approved lifevest we bought for Rory at Costco came in handy at the lake on Memorial Day. The above is a picture of her and I swimming. For some reason she only really felt safe in my arms...she must think my big belly makes be a better floater than the other adults. :)

Had an appointment with the midwife yesterday. I only gained 6 pounds while at camp. I was a little nervous that it'd be more considering the high carb content of most of the meals. Not to mention the lack of many veggies other than salad. The flip side must've been that I was walking everywhere and that burned off the extra calories. So far the weight gain is up to 19 1/2 lbs. The baby is head down, and had the hickups (sp?) while we listened for a heartbeat. Everything is great. Appointments are every two weeks now. It's getting closer. Today Brad came into the kitchen carrying Rory's baby doll cradled like a baby. He was smiling at me thinking that in two months we'd have a real one of our own to carry around like that. I'm in denial. Every day it seems like Rory does something and I think, "Lord, please don't let her be acting like this when the baby comes. Can we arrange something to where she is incredibly grown up just until I get my bearings with two kids...and then she can go back to being my vibrant little two year old?"
