Rory's first crush

Rory has taken a liking to a certain young man at Castaway Club. His name is Casey Gum and he is Jim and Lee Gum's 12 year old son (Jim is the Regional Director for the greater Kansas City YL area and also the camp speaker/director this month). Rory decided yesterday that Casey was just about the best thing on camp grounds and has spent most every waking minute either following him around, or asking where he is. If he's within her line of sight, you can bet she'll be by his side before too long. She constantly runs up to him and throws her arms around his waist for a hug. All the while she's repeating, "Casey, Casey, Casey!" Casey sat down on the floor for a while yesterday and she spent almost the entire time next to his side with her arm draped over his shoulder. Every once in a while she'd lean her head in toward his, but mostly she was just content to be near him. It's amazingly cute and I have no problem with the object of her affection. Brad and I told Casey that we'd be happy to pay for the wedding if he'd wait on her. :) Sometimes though, I get the feeling that Rory might be walking the line between crushing and stalking.

Another first for Miss Rory today...pigtails. Brad has been asking for a few weeks now for me to put her hair up in pigtails. This morning he finally got his wish. She didn't really like the process of putting her hair up, but once the ponytails were in she left them alone...good girl. I must say, she looks awful cute. As if she wasn't adorable enough already, we go and put in pigtails. I'll post a picture later.

Mail Call!! Yippee Skippee we got mail! Imagine our elation when a friend told us today, "You guys got a package." Many thank yous to the Lockards for our care package. Brad has already shared the exciting news with a fellow camp worker that they now make M&M's in resealable bags. :) Rory is very excited for her birthday to arrive so she can open up her special packages. Thanks also to the Maggios for the card and photo of Braden. We'll put his photo up on Rory's mirror so she can see her friend every day.
