I understand that lots of people get up much earlier than 7 am. But since Brad and I are often out in the evenings doing stuff for Young Life we have adapted to a different schedule. Our alarm is Rory standing up in her bed in the morning calling, "Mommy, Daddy!" That usually happens around 7:30am...so that's when our day starts. This morning however we have no Rory. I think for the first time since we had Rory we sent her away to stay with the grandparents...not because we have an overnight meeting, or a camp trip...just because we needed a break. We went to bed last night with hopes of sleeping in since our alarm is 2 1/2 hours away.
Fast forward to this morning. My eyes pop open at 7:00 am. On another day perhaps I'd be able to convince myself to fall back asleep. But not with a growing baby pressing against a full bladder...the moment I wake up I have to use the bathroom. By the time I stand up and "take care of business" I'm wide awake. Hence the reason for my 7:30 am blog entry. :)
Yesterday just a little bit after I walked in the door after dropping her off I asked Brad if he missed her yet, "Yeah," he said...and I agree. She's just too cute. It's a much needed break but we'll be ready to pick her up on Friday.
We plan on celebrating our mini-vacation and my 28th birthday by heading out together on Thursday to spend giftcards and eat a nice lunch. We're toying around with the idea of getting a room somewhere so we don't have to make our own bed Friday morning. :) Not that we make our bed everyday when we're at home...but we don't have cable.
