Living in working mom world has made it increasingly less likely that I'll update this blog regularly. However, I really do miss filling everyone in on our daily lives. So, I'm going to give it yet another valiant attempt. Here's some random stuff from our family.
Rory and Emme have developed runway faces. Rory's is a sassy face that we call "le Tigre." She tucks her chin down, sticks her hip out and tips her head to one side. Her lips pucker up and she gets a very serious look on her face. Le Tigre.
Emme's runway face, or as we call it, "Blue Steel," is more of a stare. She tucks her chin to her chest, furrows her brow, and seems to dare everyone else to try and mess with her.
Our favorite new Emme trick, which is a rarity to actually see her perform, is her latest word..."Rory!" It's very exciting and sounds a lot like "Ro Ro." Rory was so happy the first day she said it that she planted a big kiss on Emme.
I was a Matron of Honor in a friend's wedding this past weekend. I've decided that I really dislike that phrase. No one ever considers it a compliment if they're called "matronly." Why would we give a person we love a title with that word in it? I think a change of tradition is in order. Why not "Best Woman?"
My gift was an incredible glass necklace and earrings made by the bride's friend. Her name is Kari Heybrock (www.kariheybrock.com), and she is an incredible jewelry artist!
Totally random fact: I know 10 people who are pregnant. That's an incredible amount don't you think!? (I am not one of them.)
The countdown to my 30th birthday has begun. Brad and I are making a quick trip to Colorado Springs to celebrate. I'm excited to be 30. I think I'm more content with myself now than I was when I turned 20.
