where to begin

Brad had really good intentions of starting a blog. He even said things like, "I should write that in my blog." And, "That would make a good story for my blog." However, as you can tell, those stories never made it to the blog. Sorry.

I'll try to give a quick catch up on our life. Students are in the second week of school here at William Jewell. The craziness of August has died down after two weeks of training and preparing the residence halls for move-in day, and then orientation weekend. We're in a routine and it's nice to know what to expect...for the most part.

For those of you we haven't talked to, my job ended up being more office work than I anticipated. I am actually required to work 32 hours in an office each week. (20 hrs in a residence hall office and 12 in Student Affairs.) The morning hours aren't real labor-intensive so I do have some freedom to interact with Rory and Emme after the tasks I have are done. Yesterday morning, Rory and I painted her tote bag for preschool during my office time.

Brad has switched roles and is now the primary care-giver. He has also gone back to Young Life in a part-time position with KC North. He was approached by the Area Director to team lead at Liberty High School, and help train new college-age leaders from William Jewell. He will focus on interacting with kids and training/caring for leaders....the things about YL which energize him the most. He'll be paid based on what he can personally raise.

Rory starts preschool today. Emme is close to walking.
