cuddle time

Emme and I had an indulgent morning. Recently I have been feeling down because Emme isn't much of a cuddler, and I haven't had as much time to hold her as I did when Rory was born. So this morning after Emme's 6:30 feeding when she fell asleep on my shoulder while trying to burp her, I went with it. Instead of lying her down in her bed to nap, I held her for the next 2 1/2 hours. We fell asleep on the couch together until it was time for her to eat next. It was wonderful to snuggle with her. I love it when she nuzzles her way into the crook of my neck and I can feel the short quick breaths she takes.

On another note. Our church has embarked on a new adventure. An anonymous donor has given $5,000 to be used in a modern-day parable of the talents. Each family is given $50 to use as "seed money." With that money they can embark on any effort to multiply the money for the church. After the success of Rory's dresser, we are thinking we may look for more old furniture at garage sales to paint and resell for a small profit. Spread the word. If you know of any good garage sales we should check out...or if you know anyone who might be interested in a newly painted dresser...

WyldLife club started Monday night. I was very stressed about it, and spent much of the time with beforehand being not so nice to my family. However, the evening went much better than I had anticipated. Twenty-six students showed up and had a great time. There were lots of new faces, which is a great thing. Everyone left with a smile on their face...including me.
