My girls.

I am a Young Life leader. Most of you know this about me. Last night I got to host one of my favorite activities with my high school girlfriends...canvas night. Each year as soon as possible after returning home from YL camp, I get the girls from our cabin together, and anyone else who wants to join us, and we paint canvasses. I start out with plain white ones from Hobby Lobby, and by the end of the night they have been transformed into works of art. Each one unique, portraying the work of its artist.

I should know by now not to be surprised by what I see. My girls repeatedly impress me with their creativity and desire to make their canvas truly excellent. More than once others have commented that we should sell these paintings to raise money for camp. Someday maybe we will, but until then, they will hang in my home. They serve as decorations, inspiration, sources of laughter, and memories of friends.
