misc thoughts

A couple things I've learned from my battle with poison ivy:
1-Aveeno's Milk Bath is WONDERFUL! Seriously, buy it if you have any type of skin discomfort. The past few nights it has been so comforting that I have actually fallen asleep in the bathtub.
2-Doctor's are great! I typically like to suffer through things on my own without paying for a doctor's visit & the medicine that would help me heal faster. However, being as last night I had my first full night's sleep, in large part because of the meds I've started, I'm all about singing the doctor's praises. Thank you to my doctor and midwife AND the nurses that make their offices run smoothly.

A website you might want to check out: http://savedarfur.org/home
The strife in the Sudan has been a topic of much conversation on the television lately. Oprah has encouraged her viewers to become educated concerning what some are calling a genocide happening in the country, national morning news shows have welcomed George Clooney to talk about his recent trip to see the country's turmoil in person, and even the primetime show ER has a whole plot line running regarding the issue (the most recent episode was set entirely in Darfur). The website above will better explain what's going on. My quick recap is that government supported militia groups are setting out to "clear" out entire groups of people considered disloyal to the Sudanese government. You can go to the website, learn more, and sign up to send a postcard to President Bush encouraging our government to get more involved.
